HubSpot onboarding is the structured setup period after you buy a paid HubSpot subscription. It covers connecting your domain and tools, importing data, configuring pipelines and properties, building first workflows and training your team. It can be delivered by HubSpot's onboarding specialists as guided coaching, or by a HubSpot Solutions Partner as hands-on implementation.
HubSpot onboarding is the structured period after you buy a paid HubSpot subscription in which the account is configured, your data is brought in and your team learns to use it. It is distinct from simply creating an account, which takes minutes.
What it covers
- Technical setup: connecting domains, installing the tracking code, adding users and permissions.
- Data: cleaning and importing contacts, companies and deals, and mapping custom properties.
- Process: defining lifecycle stages, deal pipelines, lead status and handoff rules.
- Automation: first workflows, sequences, templates and lead routing.
- Integrations: connecting the website, email, calendar and any other systems.
- Training: role-based sessions so sales, marketing and service teams know what to do.
Who delivers it
HubSpot’s own onboarding is delivered by an onboarding specialist over roughly 90 days and is coaching-led: they advise and your team configures. It is a paid, one-time fee and is usually required for Professional and Enterprise purchases. A HubSpot Solutions Partner can deliver onboarding instead, typically as hands-on implementation, and HubSpot usually waives its own fee in that case. Fees change, so check the current pricing page.
Good onboarding ends with the team using HubSpot daily on real data, not with a completed checklist.
